We
meet every Wednesday morning in term-time, in Fowlmere Village
Hall, from 10.00 am to 11.30 am. We welcome all children
under school age, accompanied by a parent, grandparent, nanny
or childminder.
Our
format is relaxed and informal, but structured just enough to
give a basic preparation for playgroup.
We
have a variety of toys for all the children, including duplo,
a toy kitchen, books, puzzles and ride-on toys, and there is
usually a craft activity for the older ones (for mums to supervise).
The
children have squash and a biscuit and there is a story time
or songs while the mums have their refreshments. Then the children
continue to play until it is time to pack away.
The
weekly cost (including refreshments) is 40p per adult, 40p for
the first child and 20p for additional children.
We
also organise fund-raising events (for our funds and other charities)
throughout the year and hold a Christmas party and summer outings.
We have a committee to co-ordinate the running of the Club and
a rota for all mums to help out at our weekly meetings - jobs
include opening up, preparing refreshments, reading the story,
supervising the crafts and clearing away.
Please
come along on a Wednesday morning to meet the other mums and
children from Fowlmere and the surrounding area.
