Women’s World Day of Prayer Friday 5 March.
All ages, men as well as women, are welcome to come to the combined village service at St Mary’s Church. This year the Christian women of Panama have taken the theme ‘In Faith, Women Shape the Future’, to prepare a series of readings, prayers and a suggested order for our service. Details of the time will be announced later.

These services take place on the first Wednesday of most months. They have in mind those who are stressed and tired and who feel the need to relax in a peaceful spiritual atmosphere. In gentle lighting we listen to recorded music, poetry and scripture, interspersed with moments of silence and prayer.

The midweek services of readings and traditional hymns will be on Wednesdays 18 February and 17 March at 2.30 pm in the chapel, followed by tea and biscuits.

DIARY

‘O Praise Ye The Lord’
We enjoyed singing traditional carols and listening to familiar Christmas readings in December, and in January we celebrated Epiphany – was it kings? wise men? Who were they, and how many? Where did they see Jesus and why did they bring those gifts? All these questions were the basis of the Epiphany service.

Playgroup’s Nativity Service

Christmas would not be the same without it! Each child added a touch of individuality, which combined to tell the well-known story. The angels waved cheerily to the ‘world’ in front of them. Mary held the baby safely throughout while Joseph stood guard. There was peace between the shepherds and wise men this year and the flock of fluffy sheep looked on as the gifts were enthusiastically put into the manger. At every stage in the narrative the children sang, with confidence, a song which illustrated the action. It was a most enjoyable performance and congratulations must go to the children who acted and sang so beautifully and to the teachers and parents who had worked so hard to make it a success.
